Phoenix Brickwork secured the masonry and scaffold package and have started on site at the new Luton DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) for Volkerfitzpatrick / Kier Joint Venture, to form the new Parkway and Central Stations for the automated guided people mover to replace the current shuttle bus service into Luton Airport.
Our package, consisting of internal block walls and worth in the region of £650k with a 17 week build programme started on Monday 23rd September 2019 and we worked closely with VFK Kier on design issues to ensure that the works run as smoothly as possible out on site. The late introduction of approximately 100nr full height windposts meant a lot of resequencing to keep ahead of the M&E contractors, but good communication and teamwork achieved this successfully.
