Here at Phoenix Brickwork/Drywall/Scaffold, we are proud of every member of our team. Whether they're in the office or on-site, everyone works tirelessly to ensure that the overall stability and success of Phoenix is always at the highest level.
We are all #teamPhoenix, and we want to showcase those within by giving you the chance to know more about them, including some stories and advice.
First up is Site Manager, Keith Shipley.
Keith's hard work and dedication to Phoenix during his 10-years of service has recently earned him a deserved reward of a Nissan Navara N-Guard to take on-site, which we surprised him with last Friday.
How long have you been at Phoenix for, and how have you progressed in your time here?
I've been at Phoenix for about 10-years. I started as a bricklayer and eventually moved up to manager. In my time here I've also passed my forklift, first aid, IPAF and a few other tickets on the way.
What was your background in the industry before Phoenix?
I started as a labourer 30-years ago and worked my way up to where I am today.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to do DIY and fishing.
What's the best project you've seen or been part of?
The best project for me to look back at would have to be St Marks Student Accommodation in Lincoln.
Do you have any funny stories on-site that you'd like to share?
Funniest story was probably when I was building the Alton Towers Hotel, I had to teach Mr Tumble (children's entertainer) how to lay bricks for their TV advert.
What would you say to those looking to get into the industry?
Simple advice is to work hard, as there's a lot of money to be earned in the industry.
And finally, what does being part of #teamPhoenix mean to you?
It's nice to know that I have a company that will be there behind me and will help me out and back me with any training I might need.
