Phoenix are proud to be associated with Northampton College's Ignite The Spark event at the Booth Lane Campus in Northampton. A number of events took place over the course of last week to engage with local schools and colleges to enthuse young talent and inspire them to look to construction as their chosen career path.
After a tour of the brand new Advanced Construction & Engineering Centre, recently built by Kier, with masonry by Phoenix Brickwork, we visited students taking part in various trade based activities such as joinery, plumbing and electrical works.
Phoenix sponsored 1 of 3 challenges and were pleased to award the Apprentice Team from Northampton College £20 Amazon vouchers to each of the winning team members for their Big Rig victory.
It was great to meet and chat with the students and try and play our part in encouraging youngsters into our industry. This is just the start of our journey with the College and we are excited to be able to work with them and commit resource to the future of construction.
